Cobalt Ore is a high tier resource.
Obtaining[]
Mining[]
Cobalt Ore can be mined from a Cobalt Deposit using a Zirconium Hand Drill or Zirconium Pick. It is mainly found on the seabed in Geothermal Area and Crystal Formation biotopes. These are found only in Taiga and Polar waters.
Cobalt deposits can also spawn in Polar caves as well as occasionally on the surface in one of the Alien overgrowth biotopes with Alienifer Trees and Alienflowers.

Cobalt ore is a reasonably common drop from the following creatures:

Cobalt ore can spawn in containers at many Polar Random Encounters.
Breaking items[]
Small quantities of Cobalt ore can be acquired by breaking items that require Cobalt Ingots in their recipe, such as Cobalt Sword or Guardian Armor.
Rewards[]
Any Handbook missions that have a Polar Resource Pack will give between 5-50 Cobalt ore once claimed.
Usage[]
Cobalt Ore's single use is to craft Cobalt Ingots.
